Refund policy
Returns
PRIOR TO SENDING ANYTHING BACK FOR A POTENTIAL REFUND YOU MUST EMAIL AND RECEIVE AN RMA NUMBER! Failure to do so may result in the package being refused and returned at your expense!
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a store credit or exchange. Any non-defective item is subject to a 20% restocking fee. All items are tested immediately prior to putting them into the shipping container, as such, defective items would be highly unusual.
Additionally, if you received free shipping and refuse delivery of the package, shipping will be deducted from any refund/store credit.
NOTE: ANY refund processed will be reduced by 10% to cover the PayPal/Shopify fees. Neither PayPal nor Shopify refunds their fees once an order is paid. As such, we have to charge you that 10% no matter what.
Note 2: Any item designated as "Build to order" will carry a 20% cancellation fee. We start these items once you place the order. The build time is noted IN THE ITEM DESCRIPTION. Any delay will be communicated via email. Expect delays! If you cancel prior to shipment, we will treat this as a "restocked item" and reduce any refund accordingly.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Additional non-returnable items:
- Gift cards (if we ever sell them)
- SD cards with files
- Any type of KIT (UAV, XEL, etc) cannot be returned once assembly has been started. Items like this *must* be returned in the condition they were sold or NO refund will be allowed.
- Any "AS IS" item. "AS IS" means that the item went though whatever process listed on the sales description and then placed in the shipping box. These items should be treated as potentially failed and tested prior to use.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
- Book with obvious signs of use
- CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error. Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
All items are tested immediately prior to putting them into the shipping container. As such, defective items would be highly unusual.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed and a Store Credit will be issued. Store credit is good for up to one year from the issue date.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at sales_support@thebrewingacademy.com and send your item to: 15 Court St, Woodland CA 95695, United States.
Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.
Shipping
All responsibility of shipping is on the purchaser. We regard the item to be "Free On Board [FOB]" [definition here] once accepted by the shipper (i.e., USPS/UPS/FedEx/DHL, etc). If you have a believe that your package may become lost and/or damaged during shipment, please purchase either shipping insurance and/or a carrier/shipping service that provides tracking and insurance.
Our default is to ship USPS. Priority Mail comes with $50-$100 worth of insurance. If you select UPS, it defaults to $100 unless extra is paid for.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund (store credit), the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
